I put in a BBK intake - not the best, I know, but about on par with LS6 - specifically to preserve the LS1 coolant cross-over. When I put the LS6 valley cover in, I had to do some rebending.

Might have been overkill, but I'm paranoid about things

A buddy of mine suggested running a crossover in the rear as well as the front. Has anyone else heard of this? I'm not even sure there's room for it.

I have seen pictures where guys rig up their own and run a hose over to the front and merge them together with T fittings. I thought about doing that myself and decided against it.

Ya people do that, just buy two kits and put one on the back. Not to trash anyone's ideas or beliefs but I never understand why people are so hesitant to delete the back ones. I understand what the steam tubes do and all but I think people worry too much. Fbodys after 00 came stock with the rears blocked off. Moreover every ls engine made after that has the rears completely blocked off with a press in plug.

Op I would just do the ls6 kit and call it a day but if you are really concerned then you can go the other ways suggested.

Well according to him having the second one in the back helps to relieve pressure in the back and not having it COULD cause problems. I've never heard of it doing that but I wanted to look into it and see if it is worth doing.

Not to put him down but like I said, every ls motor after 00 has the tears blocked off so there's really no need to

the block offs can be bought with a GM part number right now 5/28/15

if they were a bad idea i am pretty sure it wouldn't still be sold as a genuine part

Oh I hear ya. Mine has em blocked off so I was just wanting to investigate this. If it's not doing any harm I'm not worried about it.

Just joined here. Question on the steam ports and seal configurations. I am doing a DoD Delete on my 07 Suburban and went to install my crossover tube and blocking caps and the seal kit came with 4 oval aluminum with seal embedded and 3 o-rings for the coolant system. Three of the connections had o-rings and all had the aluminum oval pieces. If I recall one o-ring came out. Question is should the four connectors have the o-rings and the oval aluminum seals? if so then I would wonder why only 3 o-rings came in the kit? Or is the oval aluminum seals used on all 4 and only two o-rings for the blocked off rear ports?
