Arrow Does the Belt Brand Matter?

I will be needing to get some belts soon to compliment my ASP pulley. Does the belt brand really matter? I'm mostly worried about squeaking with low quality belts, not so much longevity. At my local store, they sell belts by Kelly Springfield. They also have other belts but they cost twice as much and need to be specially ordered. I think the main LS1 serpentine belt is around $13, and the expensive one is around $30. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I bought the belts from Autozone to get me home, but I personally didnt like them. I replaced my old ASP with the new SFI approved one a few months ago and to me the ones from Autozone werent that great. They were real stiff and the material was real hard. I just needed a belt to get me home and Autozone was the only parts store that was open at 1 in the morning. Anyhow, I took it back and bought one from Napa. They have good belts. That is what Tbyrne sells their kit with, Napa belts. The ones from Autozone are Kelly Springfield. Hope that helps.

A belts a belt...... I've got Gates belts on the LS1 and Kelly-Springfield on my 91 5.0. I have never had a problem with any of the belts and the one on the mustang has been there for 10 or so years.

The only belts I've ever had stretch on me, were
Kelly-Springfield. So bad I ran out of adjuster
room after a couple of thousand miles. I prefer
Gates (at least for my V-belt vehicles).

I prefer the gatorback for my blower. Gates is good too. Dayco is at the bottom of the list (for the blower) - stretches easier and glazes over easier. I don't know about the kelly-springfield.

Does anyone use or recommend the GM belts? I thought that Napa carried the GM belts but I guess I was wrong? Napa gave me a price of $29.00 which was
(I thought) for the GM belt. If these GM belts are junk, someone please educate me.
Thanks,
