Default Hooker Blackheart Dual Exaust for LS1?

I was shopping around for parts for my 2002 Trans Am and i came across Texas Speed and they were offering a Hooker Blackheart true dual exhaust for late model 4th gens. Has anyone had any experience with this kit? Ive been looking for an exhaust system and figured someone with more knowledge than me would know more about it than me. I have searched and i couldn't find any reviews or people with the system on their car.

It requires you to use their hooker mid length headers

If you want duals that will work with longtubes, just get the Texas Speed true duals. They fit great, sound great, you won't be disappointed.

I figured. I was wondering if anyone had experience with the headers and the exhaust and if they liked it. Thanks for replying!

I was thinking about the TS dual system. I just wanted something that would go over the axle and not give me to much drone on the inside. Did the TS duals have a lot of drone?

This is the first I've heard of the system. Not a bad deal for a stainless over the axel TD kit, too bad its designed for mid-length headers.

Any sound clips yet?

How much of a pain is it to extend those Texas Speed TD's over the axle though?. The mufflers are awfully close to the axle and would have to turn sharp to go over the passenger side axle. Just a thought if you didn't want empty trans am bumper cutouts lol

Looks like it could be made to work with LT's without much trouble. Nice looking exhaust. Doesn't say what the tube size is though. Probably 2.5"?

its 2.5". Looks easy for someone with a welder and some time to mate them to longtubes. I would also like to see a view from directly behind to see what the mufflers look like.

That's good to know. Maybe when I get my tranny dropped I'll invest in some LTs and mount something up. Maybe though. haha.

Here is a link to a thread started about them from Hooker: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ming-soon.html.

I feel they can easily be modified by any competent exhaust shop that can weld stainless steel to work with long tubes. I personally would like to see a dual 3" system but the 2-1/2" will work well for those wanting the best ground clearance and a true dual system that reaches all the way out the back.

No sir. Duals don't really drone like a catback setup does.

If it easily worked with my long tubes, I'd buy it in a heartbeat...

The rasp is getting old with the Corsa.

thanks for the link! learned a lot from it. seems like mods would be good for clearance but in terms of power gains not so much. personally it's just to hold me over until I get enough cash for a Turbo or Supercharger build.

That's good to know... my buddy's got a custom dual set up on his LT1 and it kinda drones but not to bad. I don't know if it was how the exhaust was built or what.

For me, I feel getting it out and over the back is the hard part, getting it to work with longtubes is just a few cuts and flanges/flares away.

Looks like a nice setup. I'd buy it if I didn't want 3".

Damn, I never thought about that... Figured that the duals would fit good and just a couple cuts off the start of the exhaust and that would link to the LTs. 2.5" shouldn't be that bad in terms of moderate performance.

I just put the bassani system on my car and man I can talk in my car. On longer trips I'm not getting headaches. Yes there is a power difference, second doesn't just chirp it breaks free now. Before the exhaust I was 329hp 330tq. I hope to get it back to the same dyno before I do anything else to the car.

I'm curious why the bassani isn't more popular: is it 2.5" as well?

Itd be nice to see the fit of both of these systems side by side
