Default Would FAST intake work with my setup?

I'm still undecided between the FAST 92 and 102, but this question would be valid regardless of that. Would a ported version of either work well with my setup? If there are any examples of similar setups I haven't been able to find them through various search methods, but I do have an "old school" set up. Here is a list of my current major mods:

TR227 cam - Reverse Split 227/224 .569/.563 114
GTP Stage 2 ported 5.7 heads unmilled
Kooks 1 3/4 headers with ORY
Corsa catback

Reverse split cams were all the rage in the early 2000's, and for good reason. They worked well with restrictive intakes and good flowing exhausts. That is why I'm concerned a FAST may not be beneficial in this setup. If I'd get a solid 15 rwhp/tq increase across the board I'd do it.

I had a tr230 stock headed combo. I went from the ls1 intake to the Fast 90 and it gained a TON seat of the pants.

Since you already have the ls6 you will gain but it won't gain as much.

10hp unported still seams reasonable and it depends who does the porting if you gain much or any above that.

Like mentioned above you should gain somewhere between 10 and 20 hp if it's ported? Why still undecided between the 92 and 102?

I would certainly spring for a "Mamofied" piece either way, I just want to make sure it's worth the money on my setup. I don't plan on going into the motor for a few years, but would like to maximize this setup even though I'm far from a max effort build.

The only reason I was considering a 92 is because with a reverse split cam the intake restriction may not hurt as much, and I'd save some coin by being able to reuse my fuel rails, possibly injectors, and without possible fitment issues.

I hear ya. I saw a test a while back comparing the two, and there was like a 7 hp difference if I remember right. If I were you I'd opt for a good used 92, and really save some coin

That may be the way to go. I'm not in a rush anyway, so I can be patient...errr...maybe

If it could be a 7hp difference in that I could get 25 from a ported 102 and 18 from a ported 92, I'd get a used 92 and send it to Tony. If it was more like 15 from the 102 and 8 from a 92, I'd probably hold off all together until I was ready to upgrade the entire H/C/I setup.

Before I do all that though, the first lump of money I save goes to MWC for a rear

Smart move on doing the rear. I see you're in MI as well and near Milan. You ever go, and if so what has it ran?

I've only owned it since March so no track time yet. The previous owner built it but barely drove it much less raced it. Car has 18,000 miles haha!

Was it ported?

I don't doubt that I would see some gains, I'm just worried that the reverse split won't respond as well as a traditional split, which is what most of the guys with big gains run.

I thought about that too, I've made the mistake of buying one thing only to sell it, lose money, and then buy something else shortly after that haha!

Thanks! It took a while, and I paid way too much, but I love this car to the point where my wife gets jealous haha!

Sounds good on Milan, I'm only 15 minutes from the track and I'd love to run it!
