Default header to y-pipe advice.

Getting long tubes for my 01SS soon but all of them seem to have open collectors. I already have the slp y-pipe with the ball flange connection .Question is has anybody here know a good way to put these togeteher .A flange adapter for the collector side or just cut the flange of the y and weld some 3 bolt flange to both ends .Trying to not spend a ton on pieces to adapt. Looked online but can't seem to find a ball socket flange that goes from the 3" to the 2.5" with the flange on the correct side. Any help would be appreciated. Looking at the pacesetters if that makes any difference .

do yourself a favor and buy the matching y pipe for your headers. Buy 1 7/8" primary headers. speed Engineering makes a nice set for a good price.

I've seen there headers on eBay. Thought they were just a cheap eBay brand. That punches the cost a little higher then I wanted to spend and they seem to be backordered. Are they really worth it over say presenters? Motor is pretty much stock, is the 1 7/8 really neccassery over the 1 3/4? And Are the o2 extenders absoultly needed? Can't stretch or reroute the stocks to fit?

Ok so I've decided to buy the speed engineering LT and Y combo .One last question, do the stainless headers needed any coating or are theyfiner to leave as is

Thanks for the advice. Going to place that order soon. I will sell the slp once the new stuff is installed .Not sure on price was going to list locally. Didn't really want to ship it
