Cleaning Injectors
I purchased some low mileage used injectors. Before install them, I would like to clean them, but I am not quite sure how or the best do it yourself method. Any insight would be greatly appreciated 😀.
Thanks guys!!!
You have to run solvent thru them (and measure each injector's flowrate to see if any are different).
You should replace the upper and lower o-rings.
If you really must do it yourself, install them on vehicle, and find someone who has something like this (fill it with solvent, connect it to fuel rail, pressurize to 60 psi using shop air, disable vehicle's fuel pump, run engine until solvent is used up):
Easiest way may be to install them & then either use the system noted above or can buy a can of Echlin Pro-clean (solvent) from NAPA, hook it up to the fuel rail through the schrader valve, pull fuel pump fuse & run engine from pressurized solvent in the can. You'll need the NAPA adapter that connects the can to the fuel rail in order to do this. Don't know if it's sold by them anymore. May be able to find one on-line.
