Default Magnaflow Exhaust question

I'm about to purchase a catback. I looking at magnaflow but I see. Few different exhausts. I'm
Not familiar with magnaflow and it's confusing as to
Which exhaust is which. Do they make different mufflers. How
Do I know which one is loud and quieter

Magnaflow for the most part is very quiet with no drone on most of their systems. do you have part numbers of the ones you are looking at?

I have that catback in my 98 DD.
I run Speed engineering Lt headers with their ORY and a small cam.

I really like the way it sounds.
No drone.

I have the MagnaFlow 14419 bullet muffler. I was told it's their loudest one, and it definitely is loud but with a nice deep tone

You should be happy with it . Most of their cat backs have no drone.

A lot of people don't like the cannon tips on the Magnaflow catback. But the muffler is good. You can buy the muffler separately, I and OTA pipes from Summit, and a couple of bends and make your own, probably cheaper than buying the catback.

I agree.
I did not like the tips and made some inserts with perforated SS tube and SS wool that also tame the sound a little more.

I just want it to be loud enough.
I've owned a c5z with full exhaust b&b bullits which droned and was loud. Before that a HCI Gto with lm1 so I like loud

As stated above, Magnaflow is quiet. If you want loud, I'd look at GMMG, LM1 or LM2.

Default 345HP Center Mount Exhaust

I don't want to or take anything away from the OP.... But I have a quick question.

I have the SLP CME and I'm wanting to change out the bullet type/glass pack that was installed from SLP. After I installed headers, it's just extremely loud when your doing normal driving. I don't mind it loud under WOT, but cruising around town makes it hard to carry on a conversation....

I've attached pictures of the original exhaust from SLP. Would the Magnaflow be a much better choice? I can tell you that I have very little, if not none rasp whatsoever and very minimal drone. It's just the loudness between 2,000-3,000 RPM's...

I'm open to all suggestions.... Thanks!!

This is exactly what I had then switched to a MagnaFlow 14419 bullet muffler. It's the same dimensions as the LM resonator so it fits right in place if it...plus it's only like 70 dollars. Cheap and easy solution, plus it sounds soooo much better lol

Can you provide some more details on this, like sizes and where you got the tubing and that adapter ring? I was thinking of doing the same thing.

The perforated tube I bought off ebay. Do a search for "2.5 in. 409 STAINLESS STEEL perforated exhaust tube"

You will need about 20" SS tube per side.

SS wool was also bought off ebay. You can fill the space between the perforated tube and the tips with SS wool or leave it empty. Thats up to you.

The adapter ring:
I machined two donut shaped inserts out of aluminum to hold the perforated tube on the outer end of the tips. They are about 1" thick, 3.4" OD and 2.5" ID with a step for the perforated tube to sit against. The perforated tube was press fitted into these inserts. A hole on the OD of the aluminum inserts was threaded 1/4"NC to hold the inserts from falling out of the tips.
There is a hole in the lower outer end of the tips that I used to hold the inserts in place with a button head ss screw.
