Default Granatelli 85kv Ls coils

Has anyone tried the Granatelli 85kv Ls coils on their LS engine?
After striking out trying to find test results from anyone that had performed any tests on any aftermarket coils I ended up ordering a set to test on my 416 LS3 engine used in my Corvette track car. They have the highest voltage output of any of the aftermarket coils that I checked .
Granatelli has shipped my coils but it will be a few weeks before I get a chance to do a dyno test to compare the OEM coils to the Granatelli coils.
My engine now has 607 rwhp ,555 lb/ft torque.

What makes you think these are any better than stock coils?

I do not know if they are better than OEM or not but they are advertised to have 85,000 v output and the OEM has 22,000 v output.
Granatelli said that GM has switched to his coils for the 2016 COPO Camaro.
He said that his coils will be in the new GMHP catalog .
Now what do you think? Time to test and see ?

There's a reason why nobody has bought them. Seems the factory units are plenty. Everything Granatelli sells is overpriced & has some false claim of more hp. How much do they claim on these coils?

Thank you for a real world "I really have tried it" input to my question. Now I need someone that has tried the coils or any of the other aftermarket coils to give me their input.
I do not think that GM would be installing them in the new 2016 COPO Camaro if they did not increase performance. Granted I have not been able to find any specs on the COPO that states that the Granatelli coils are used. JR made this statement to me.

Also, I'm not sure the kv value is a fair way to judge coils. It is more of a marketing type thing.

Scoot on over to yellowbullet and you will find lots of infomation on the subject. The guys that post over there know their **** and you can trust most of it. The fact that it has never been brought up over there tells me they are nothing special.

Is the HP value a fair way to judge an engine?
I found something very interesting. Yesterday I was talking to a dyno shop tuner that tunes GM & Ford products. He said that Mercury Marine makes a coil with 40KV output that the Ford guys are using. From what I have learned they also make the IGN-1A coil for an LS engine.
I will take look at what Scoot has to say. Thanks for your input.

Those are the coils I run.

There are guys lighting methanol at 40+ lbs of boost with those. Doubt the granatelli crap would do that.

Are you using the OEM ECM with the IGN-1A coils?
Give me some idea on how you have it wired.

It might could be done with stock ecu though. 3 of the 5 pins go to ground, 1 12v and the other is the trigger wire.

This is the answer I got from LMS-EFI.com about wiring the ING-1A coils. The coils are not a direct replacement.
"Ideally you'll need to do a fairly extensive rewire and I'm not certain the OE GM wiring is up to the amp draw of these coils. We fuse each set of 4 coils for 20A. On a V8 application, we run two separate circuits per bank with two relays and two fuses to ensure the coils get an adequate power supply. We can provide all the pieces you would need to build a harness, if you wanted to go that route. You'll also need a way to manipulate the dwell table of your ECU to ensure proper performance of the coils.

Chris Ludwig
www.lms-efi.com"

I also received this info from DIY Tune:
"You'll need to do some rewiring and modifying the brackets, but these will work great on these engines: http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/i...oil-p-394.html

Thanks,

For now I will test the Granatelli coils to see if there is any gains
