seems like one thing after another this past couple weeks with my car..

finally got my car started after four days of VATS issues and then oil started gushing out of what looks to be the bottom of my kn oil filter where they put the nut on the end of it.

it doesn't leak when car is off. anyone had this issue before? I used to use bosch filters probably switching back after this crap or what other brand is suggested

They're cheap, pull it off and replace it with another filter.

K&N is usually pretty good. Sounds like you just got a rare bad one. Look into the Wix XP filers. Wire backed synthetic media.

Did you make sure that the old seal came off with the old oil filter?

OP said it was from the nut part. Probably a weld that went to deep and made a hole.

I use nothing but Wix filters. Never an issue.

I had a Wix filter that did not leak, but did not filter.

The media was loose inside the filter, my motor ran way too long with no filtration.

I think the lifters filtered it, now they are junk.
