Default Electric water pump and 102mm tb... spacer for clearance?

If this topic has been discussed (most likely) then I apologize in advance but I did a search and couldn't for the life of me find the info I needed.

To get clearance between the NW102tb and meziere pump on my setup I've grinded to the limits of what I'm willing to take off and everything is snug. Now, I intend on milling the heads for increased compression which will probably require the manifold be milled to suit. To get extra clearance between the parts I was thinking of getting some kind of throttle body spacer.

My questions are,
1. Will a throttle body spacer adversely affect performance?
2. Has anyone done this before for this purpose?

I can get a completely custom spacer milled at work for free... but I don't want to go out of my way to do this if it's going to screw around with the performance of the car. I am interested in a spacer purely for clearance.

Thanks for the help.

I really doubt it.

Thanks for the welcome! And the response, the link is helpful too.

I've done some more searching and there appears to be a spacer available, however it looks like it has all these fins etc to swirl the air as it goes in. Looks like a gimmick to me and for the price i'd rather just mill a no frills plate myself.

I hope so. If I proceed with the planned mods this is going to be my only option. I'll be sure to post up my results and some pics if it works!

Yes, those "turbo spacers" are a gimmick. But if one gives you the space you need, I don't see why it can't be used. Trim off any fins if you can, they'll cause airflow turbulence at higher RPMs, not what you want.

No hindrance at all. Just get a smooth one and not a spiral one.
