Engine cutting out
I had an issue a year or two ago with my Camaro. Driving very gently it was fine. But it would miss and you could hear the detonation under load. It threw a code for number 1 coil pack. Replacing that coil, plug, and wire didn't fix it. Turned out to be the ground for the coils on the back of the passenger side head. The rubber coating on the wire had been rubbed through from the motor torquing over for the past 175k miles. That's what the mechanic told me it was, and it's ran great since he ran a new wire.
