I had the same proplem years ago when I first put my system on. The best way to solve it is to get some heater hose and cut it into pieces and wedge those pieces between the shield and the car. I haven't had a single problem with mine in the 3 years since I did that.

That sheild is there to keep more heat from the gas tank, good idea to have it.
I have moddified the section where the over the axle pipe & sheild make contact no more noises.

Same here. I used a couple of lengths of flexible hose (don't remember what type) between the shield and the tank. No problems since.

I had the same rattle / vibration after my B & B catback went on. I shoved some pieces off dense foam rubber between the tank and shield. I actually cut the foam off what was an old piece of excercise equipment. The handgrips specifically. That immediately got rid of the noise. Those pieces have been in there for more than 2 years with no probs...

Rubber hose.... foam rubber.... whatever you got laying around should work. I wouldnt remove the heat shield. It's too easy to stuff something in there to fix it and the heat shield serves a purpose.

I had to bend my heat shield a little, it was causing an awful sounding rattle at low rpm's. Yea I know it sucks, we paid good money and should not have to deal with this crap. Part of the problem could have been the installer, cause one of my tips was about an inch lower than the other, I've got it readjusted pretty close, but Im going to see if can get them even.

I got rid of most of my rattles by putting some header wrap around the pipe right where it y's just past the rear axle. I only get a slight rattle now when the a/c is on and I am engaging the clutch below 1k rpms.

I have a vibration/rattle also, but it goes away after warmup - I guess pipes heating/expanding correct it. I looked and saw rub marks on the heat shield, so I'm sure that's the source. I only clamped my system together during install, and I think if the back tips are lifted higher, that would force the pipe that is rubbing down and stop the vibration, then either reclamp (very tightly) or spot weld the joint to hold the pipes in that position. I haven't tried to fix mine yet because it goes away after warmup and I don't drive it too often, so I'm not too annoyed yet. And I really like the sound, and have gotten many compliments/questions about it!
