Default Are Stage 8 header bolts worth it?

I'll finally be getting some LT's here in a bit so I was wondering if I should get some of these Stage 8 header bolts for them or not?

Naaa... Re-using the stock ones is fine. If you have the extra dough, go ahead and get them. But they aren't necessary.

If you want the real deal -- get the ARP header STUDS. I bought a set and man it sounds stupid but it makes it 1000 times easier. Mostly because you don't have to hold the gasket, header, and bolt all at the same time reaching over the fender. All you have to do is slide the gasget onto the studs and then slide the header on -- lines the gasket up nicely and no cross threading. My personal opinion is these are one of the most unused items in the LS1 market. I see way to many people cross threading header bolts. But again -- not necessary -- just makes things easier.

I got the stage 8 and think they worked great. A little of a pain setting them up but after 2 years of use they never backed out and not one leak. No they are not necessary but are nice.

If you want the best you need to get the breslin locking bolts. I've used the stage -8 most of my life...until the breslin bolts came out. I will never buy any other kind of locking bolt again........

i like the stud idea. besides with the studs you could use lock washers to keep the nuts from backing off. lock washers are cheaper than locking bolts.

If your a little vain like me and care the way things look under the hood go with the Stage 8 header bolts they are stainless steel so they will always look great and they work great too I love mine and the ARP studs will work better yet and if you don't care the way anything looks under the hood you could always go with the stock bolts because they work good too.

Which one came out -the stage-8 or Breslin? I have the Breslin and I like them but have only been installed for 6 months.

I never used the studs but would it be a little harder to install the headers with such limited space between the engine/frame? The stage 8 do look pimp and haven't aged at all, I wish I had a pic for ya.

Shane wasted his money on the locking header bolts, so if you want to see them just give him a call. I say you dont need em, the money can be better spent on other mods, like taking care of that rattle you got in the rear suspension.

I just did my headers also. I had purchased some stage 8's but now they are just sitting in my garage in the little plastic box, the stock ones were perfectly fine. Save the money.

ARP studs for sure. I'm getting them for my new motor. Less blood, sweat and cussing when putting headers on.
