truck intake question

truck intake question so cleaning up my 6l tonight and came across a poppet valve or something on the drivers side rear of the intake that sits parallel to the fuel rail
black **** red sleeve with a couple holes in it that moves in and out so the holes are covered or not
don't even know what to call it in order to search for info so maybe someone can enlighten me
if it is some form of valve - how would boost affect it, and how would one sea lit up if needed
what is it for?

you can just see the red sleeve peeking out at the upper left of the intake beside the fuel rail

this motor had hydrostat brakes - so it is not a brake booster line - although it could be some form of plug for where the brake booster line would go normally
it moves in and out about 1/4" - when in the out position it has three slots showing which is why it confuses me

I just asked this same question a couple days ago. Hah. I ordered a nipple that goes into it so I can use it for the brake booster on my Volvo.
Pull the black piece and then press the red ring in and the "plug" will come out.
