Is this what Everyone calls "RASP" **Video** Hey guys,
I have 1 7/8 Speed Engineering headers, TSP Catted Y-pipe (new version) and Magnaflow cat back.
I originally had an ORY but it had a lot of crackling / RASP on Down Rev. So I did some digging and the consensus was "Add Cats". So I did. And I still have the rasp/crackling.
After the revs there is this crackling all the way down and I really don't like it.
Give a listen and see what you think.

Add a 3" "powerstick" from classic chambered. I have done it to both my cars and it kills the rasp, including the 2100-2400rpm rasp and gives it a slightly deeper rumble, but not much quieter. There is a sticky on the mod.
Try to get a video of the car driving. I have the same combo but without cats and its not raspy, that's just how the magnaflow sounds. If you want to hear rasp listen to how a car with a cutout sounds at part throttle.

No, its after I Rev it and the RPM's fall it makes this high pitched crackling. It can be heard in the video. IDK if there is a way to get rid of that or not...Thinking about adding a resonator but I don't want to do that if it isn't going to eliminate that noise.
If it's not doing it under load at lower rpm then it makes me wonder if it's something else other than exhaust. For instance when I had a canned tune in my Mustang it sounded fine, then with a custom tune it cracked and popped on deceleration only. To be honest I can't really hear any rasp when you rev it in this cideo, but I know videos can be misleading. The exhaust you have should not be raspy

Not necessarily a textbook definition of rasp no. Unless the video is muffling it some. IMO the only way ive ever found to getting that deep tone is with a cat. Performance curve I believe sells some nice 200-300 cell cats in very small lengths that will tone that up nicely.

The car has TSP Catted Y and is custom dyno Tuned. The sound im talking about is the loud high pitch crackle as the rpms fall after the rev. its very "tinny" and I gotta find a way to get rid of it. Thank you for the input guys

That car sounds sick, I really like the Magnaflow sound. Honestly if you are reffering to that cracking/popping sound when you let off the throttle from the higher RPM's, I think you're going to get that kind of sound regardless with any high flowing exhaust.
