Default MSD AirForce 2702???

Does anyone have this intake on their Camaro/Firebird? Did you have issues with it clearing the knock sensor harness?

I was supposed to tune this dudes Camaro. When he told me that his mechanic didnt install his knock sensor harness, I asked why and he said the mechanic told him the intake wouldnt sit all the way down. The mechanic claims the knock sensor harness was causing interference.

Anyone have this problem?

I have the intake, but it is on an ls3 block, so the valley cover does not have the knock sensors in it, they have been moved to the sides of the block.

I can't imagine the intake not having enough space to clear the wires for the knock sensors but who knows. I know the bottom of the intake has spaces specifically for the bolts holes for the valley cover, but I'm not sure about clearance for the wires.

As you can see, there is reinforcement ribs that run along the bottom of the intake, so a little bit of grinding/sanding and it should be no problem to run a wire along there.

The problem is there isn't a lot of results out there with this intake. There have been a few thread made, but Brien's thread and his account/report is by far the best out there you're going to find.

I'm actually surprised to hear it needs to be modified for the price they're asking for these intakes. The R&D should be dead on.

If I recall correctly, there was a guy on here having this intake installed by Speed Inc. and they were having nothing but issues installing it too.

I can only comment on how it was for me, and my experiences. I've got nothing to hide or lie about, and I'll tell you the honest truth.

Yeah no kidding. Water pump, fuel rails, and water vent lines don't fit on an LS1, plus they want another $30 for a throttle cable bracket. They dropped the ball on this thing big time.

Yea that's why I stuck w/ the proven Fast. Plus id say there a bit late to the game. Most guys at this point aren't going to make the change especially at those prices.

I was also going to ask if there's any issues with the fuel rails and injector heights trying to get this intake on an LS1, or at least a LS-motor with LS1 accessories/fuel rail.

LS1 fuel rail won't fit. You can use the LS1 injectors, you'll just need some extra hardware to make them work with LS2 rails. MSD sells a kit for it, but after price gouging me for an intake that they shouldn't even be marketing as an LS1 intake, they can take their extra parts and shove 'em where the sun don't shine!

I had bought bigger fuel rails, and I have ID1000's injectors, with the spacers on top, and simply had to put spacers under the rails to get it to line up and mount fine.
