Default Exhaust size/type

I know this has probably been asked a million times but I've done my research and am still unsure of what size headers/exhaust piping to get. I have a 1999 Trans am with a ws6 hood and airbox and a cat back other then that its stock. Right now I plan on doing an ls6 intake and full exhaust but later plan on going with some ported 243's and a Texas Speed 228R cam, 228/228 .600/.600 with a 112 lsa. I do not have to worry about emissions.

Im not sure if I should get 1 7/8 lt's or 1 3/4 lt's. I've read that 1 3/4 is good for bolt ons but if you start to modify more then you will want 1 7/8.

I do want to keep it on a budget. I've herd good things abot Speed Engineering's headers. I was looking at these 2 from them. Also found a set of BBK headers/Ypipe setup used for 300 plus shipping.
1 7/8 - http://www.speed-engineering.com/fea...e-version.html
1 3/4 - http://www.speed-engineering.com/sho...e-version.html
Used BBKs - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bbk-1694

Also from the header back I'm not to sure if I should go to a Y-pipe or true duals with an X-pipe. Speed Engineering has a 3' ORY-pipe I can buy with the Longtubes. Texas speed has a 3" True Dual with X-pipe to bullet mufflers dumped.

ORY- http://www.speed-engineering.com/sho...e-version.html
True Duals - https://www.texas-speed.com/p-372-te...true-dual.aspx

Is anyone running any of these or know anything about them? Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks

I've had tsp true dual before and honestly it's too loud to drive it daily but it sounds way better than any y pipe set up.

The new Hooker Blackheart True Dual stainless steel exhaust looks interesting at $706. Will need modifying if used with anything other than the Hooker 1-3/4" and 1-7/8" stainless steel mid-length headers, but doesn’t look like it would be hard to adapt to any long tube header.

I think I'm going to go with the 1 7/8 longtubes now just need to decide on the True Duals or Y-pipe. I have an SLP Catback but whoever installed it used clamps but also tack welded it up and did a bad job at it. Thhe exhaust tips are uneven and it leaks around a couple of the clamps. I would have to take it somewhere and have them try to get it apart and weld it together the right way.

What is the diameter of the Ypipe outlet after cutting off the reducer/part where it necks down? Is it possible to run a 3.5" bullet off it then?
