Installation order: clutch/trans, or headers first?
I'm doing a lot of work/installs on my car this winter. I have the transmission and clutch off already, and I have headers (kooks) on order.
What is the best order to reinstall these? Headers first, for easy access to header bolts from below? Or clutch & trans first because access is about the same? It seems to me like headers since there is nothing in the way and I could rotate them in and up from under the car.
Thanks.

Personally I would put the headers on first. The headers won't interfere with the tranny install. You doing poly mounts while you're in there? Highly recommended if you're on the fence

I changed out my mounts to poly simply for the performance aspect. Noticeably more solid. I'd hate to have to pull the headers and everything back off to go back in and do it.

Very often, LT headers will want to bang around underneath, and the poly mounts reduce the amount of play the engine has.
It's also a matter of convenience. Once you get everything off, the mounts are right there. As opposed to having to go back in and do it later.

Honestly neither will interfere with the other. Having the trans out may make it a little easier to move the motor back and forth for a little extra room to maneuver the headers. But it's really about as wide as it is long.
