Lightbulb Starter Install Help

I went to start my 98 LS1 Z this morning and it wouldn't turn over--just makes a click noise when the starter is engaged. We checked the battery, even tried to jump it, and it still wouldn't turn over. I'm pretty sure it is the starter unless someone else has had a similar problem.

Please redirect me to a Install page for a starter. I sincerely appreciate all your advice.

Thanks,
Brandon

Good news, I'm bored and feel the need to transcribe from the Helm's manual

Do you have a Multimeter? If so, do the following:

1) Put A4 in PARK or M6 in neutral. Turn ignition switch to START position. Measure voltage from battery + terminal to the starter solenoid B terminal. Is it between 0-0.5V?
2) If yes, then replace starter
3) If no, then replace battery positive cable.

Assuming you have to replace starter:

Important This engine was designed for starter motor mounting without shims. If you have shims installed for some reason, reinstall them.

Removal procedure:
1) Disconnect negative battery cable
2) Raise and support vehicle on jackstands
3) Remove left side (I assume that means driver side) cat
4) Remove starter motor bolts
5) Lower starter motor from engine block
6) Remove wiring harness starter lead nut from the starter
7) Remove wiring harness starter lead and washer from the starter
8) Remove the + cable to starter motor nut
9) Remove + cable from starter motor
10) Remove starter motor
11) Remove starter motor shield if necessary

Installation procedure:
1) Install starter motor shield if nec.
2) Lift starter motor into position
3) Install + cable to starter motor
4) Install the + cable to starter motor nut to 89 in-lb
5) Install wiring harness and washer to starter motor
6) Install wiring harness starter lead nut. Tighten to 18 in-lb
7) Raise starter motor to engine block
8) install bolts. Tighten to 37 ft-lbs
9) Install the left side cat
10) Lower vehicle
11) Connect negative battery terminal
12) Start car and do burnout

Isn't the starter on the passender side? That would be left if you're facing the car
