Default Starter motor Q...

Just finished modding my Holley LS1 harness to work with LS3 sensors, was loop-checking the changes and ran across something odd. Since I added a few other things, had the (add-on) starter wire attached to the solenoid start terminal while checking and found that there is continuity between this terminal and ground. As in 1 ohm on from the terminal to the bare end of the wire, and 1 ohm from the terminal to ground. Took the starter off , ran it off a battery by jumping the solenoid start terminal, and all works as expected. Anyone ever seen amp draw off the little 6mm lug? I'm thinking this is gonna suck down my battery...

When you check the resistance of a coil (which the solenoid is) you'll generally get close to 0. Your tester uses barely any current flow, so the coil just acts like a wire.

Yeah, you're right. Wasn't thinking of it as a coil for some reason...
