After reconsidering, I'm just going to return the MAF back to stock. After researching there will be no gains on a stock car plus the risk of running lean / detonation. Not good. I'll just buy a new MAF - no big deal, the other one was old anyway.

The maf is a restriction of you're running a larger intake.

Do you think the SES was triggered because the lack of the screen / larger MAF housing on the stock MAF or because I touched the wire?

Could be the maf yes. Your easiest bet is to get the 85mm truck maf, descreen it and tune for it once all your mods are done

Just wondering 85mm means the housing is larger? or is it just a larger inner diameter (similar to porting)

If the housing is larger I might run into a problem because even the stock MAF didnt want to go into my LID. I had to heat my LID up and jam it in there.

For the MAF.. I ordered a replacement MAF from eBay and it was listed as a truck MAF but it still fits my car. Would this be the MAF you were speaking of?

Also if I dont tune it right away will I get an SES or risk detonation?

Well. I did the LID, Smooth Bellow and Throttle Body. I went ahead and ordered brand new truck MAF with the screen intact. My ported MAF wasnt accepting the MAF sensor for some reason and after all the trouble I had with it and the warnings not to mess with the MAF I decided to just let it be.

I must say, WOW... I can actually feel the difference. No its not the fastest thing in the world but its MUCH more responsive at higher speeds. Down low it feels almost the same, alittle more stout but on the highway it will pull you at 70 MPH + like it never did before.

I cant wait to do the exhaust.
