I had a PTC 4000 stall in my 99z coupled to a th350. It drove fine around town. Trying to do 70 on the highway is another story. If I had an overdrive transmission with lockup converter and I knew I wasn't going to spray the car I would have ran a 4500-4800 stall.

Angry

Back home...major carnage...
First pass, spun, let off and got back in it for a 1.8 60', 7.41 @ 96.5! OK, she's making power. Bring it back around, heat the tires better, and it hooks and pow/snap/rev...rear and tranny are gone
I'll tear into it tomorrow, but my guess is spider gears trash and it took out the tranny (fresh back from Performabuilt with 0 passes). It only has first gear, no 2,3,or OD. I'll drop pan too and see what I find.
I'll post vid on Monday and report my findings from the inspection

My poor son...he watched me break it. I just wanted to get one good pass before I turned it over to him for the night.
This weekend I will be swapping all the goodies from my car over to this one.

A little update...The following items are now installed and I'm waiting on the tranny (which will be here today).
-Dana S60 spooled (3.54)
-front and rear adjustable drag shocks
-3rd Gen V-6 springs in rear
-lighter PHB
-Massive LCA's
-Additional crank case breathing

Still need to do more weight reduction, 4 corner alignment and pinion angle, but the 60' should drop with the above changes.

RANT:

Tranny in - Went to install Racestar rims with new shank nuts to fit the 1/2" studs on the S60. Fuggin Chinese Junk shanks that Racestar sent were not "exact" 3.65 length, a couple were a few mm off I learned the hard way. Grabbed 5 and torqued them down. My son pointed out to me that two were sticking out a little further than the other 3. So, OK, back em off and try again. Two of the shanks mushroomed against the rotor and I like to never got them off. Screwed up both studs. Now axle is sent to Strange to install new studs (on an F-body, the backing plates won't move out of the way enough to remove studs. Bearing has to be pressed off, remove plates, install studs, and press on a new bearing). Did I mention Chinese Junk Sucks!!!!!

Report from Friday night T&T:
Track prep sucked again and it was crowded but DA was better @ 603
Got in 3 runs:
1. Spun, let off, got back in it for a 7.55 @ 97.61
2. Spun, let off, got back in it for a 7.39 @ 97.70
3. Spun just a little, stayed in it for a 7.19 @ 97.76 (1.68 60')
Played with the shocks a little but track wasn't having it....
I still think it's got a 6.99 in it on a dead hook and 1.5x 60'
