Default LS2 into a Fbody?

Does anyone make a swap kit for putting a LS2 or LS3 in a Fbody?

A LS2 is a genIII so you'll need knock and cam sensor harness extensions:

A LS3 is a genIV so you'll need more PLUS changing the crank reluctor:

Look at the exhaust ports on the LS1 and LS2 cylinder heads, I believe they are both circle port so I don't see why not.

yes they will. if you have heads theyll also swap over fine.


worthwhile upgrade imo.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if there was a difference in block height between the 2 engines.

Motor bolts right in. Finishing my LS3 install now. I'm running a Holley Dominator to control the motor and DBW though.

Cranks are different reluctor wheels and crank sensor, but early ls2 have the right ones, or you can swap it out...

Or u can buy the Lingenfelter plug in box to use the newer crank and not change the reluctor

I heard they don't work that good.
It's not hard to change the reluctor ring.

I was considering a GM crate LS3 until I heard the mixed reviews on the Lingenfelter unit's reliability/functionality.

If one is not an engine builder (or have those skills/facilites), or does not have friends in an engine shop, changing out the reluctor becomes a BIG $$$ nightmare, on top of an already expensive engine/ancillaries.
