Default 90mm TB/intake, 85mm MAF... worth LS7 4" MAF upgrade?

Stock short block and heads, cam is about a big as possible with stock short block and heads, LSX 90/90, 1 7/8 headers, 2.5" true duals.

Would I see any real benefit from getting 4" intake plumbing with a 4" card style MAF?

I believe there are MAF tables that have to be updated.

At your level you will be lucky if your 85mm MAF is doing you any good over the stock one.

If anything I would be looking at bigger exhaust head pipes than a MAF. I had good luck every single time I did anything to open mine up. I now run 3" duals and dual cutouts I open at the track. Still seems the car runs about .6 mph faster with them open but it's hard to get perfect back to back passes.

I know that....I'm subbed to see the replies/results, same reason you posted to ask the question. I've been contemplating a Halltech 108 or Lingenfelter 100 for quite a while and looking for information. I've spoken to Anthony at LG and read some posts that suggest only above 450 HP does the 100mm MAF or larger begin to show small gains above the GM 85mm.

I've seen threads where guys making 480+ rwhp switched to an 85mm and gained 5-8hp

I don't recall having seen anyone change to a 100mm MAF without changing other things too which makes the comparison useless.

Quick Reply: 90mm TB/intake, 85mm MAF... worth LS7 4" MAF upgrade?
