Having trouble getting torque arm bolts back in
Having trouble getting torque arm bolts back in Had to drop my axle last weekend and I'm having a little trouble getting the torque arm back on. I thought the bolts went in from the top, and the picture in the service manual seems to confirm that, but it doesn't seem possible to get the front one in. There's nowhere near enough space above the torque arm for a bolt that long to go straight in. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? Does it even matter what direction they go in?

No, your fine, you can leave the jack stands under the axle. If you still have your scissor jack put it on the driver's side on the lift point for the rear tire on the body where the notch is cut in the "pinch rail"
Lift the body up until you have enough room, shouldn't take much

Got another rookie question. How important are the torque specs on these bolts? Will German torque specs be good enough or am I gonna want to borrow a torque wrench?
