Default Truck Starter on LS1

I have a 1999 Trans Am and am interested in replacing the original LS1 starter with the truck unit (long bolt on each side). I am looking at GM part number 89017844, which is for a 2006 2500 truck with 6.0L engine. I'm not sure if 10465385 in the GMPP catalog differs.

Before I begin that process, I want to make sure that the truck unit bolts in as the original, without any modifications to the wire harness. Can anyone confirm that? Also, is the overall dimension of the truck starter any larger than the LS1 starter?

Thanks!

Bolts right in.
I think the 06 truck starters were smaller than the older truck starters.

I got a Bosch truck starter for a 6.0, I think it was 2005 1500, looks smaller than my original but the change to the long bolt makes it a little harder to maneuver it into place. No wiring changes. Works great.
