Yeah the thing blocking the throttle port is kind of weird also. Tony had said he had to remove a ton of material too

I can believe it. You end up removing alot of material porting a fast also. The msd looks like more material will be removed.

Tony, I'm running a futral ported fast 90 on my stock bottom end lq4 , 232/235 .600 /.600 112+4 . I twist it to 7000-7200 as that's where it likes being shifted now. 11/1 compression with the Darts milled to 60 cc and .045 cometics. the heads have had a valve job and some bowl work and short turn work and flow well.
this intake actually looks like a better swap for me then to fool with the heads any more. I'm running a 4600 stall and 4.10 gear with 28s on a 125 shot or 26's on motor. thoughts on this intake going from a fast 90 please

There are lots of areas that need to be addressed.

I'm hoping to have a definitive answer to this on a LS1 sometime next week. Hio and hammer are spot on. Tony said he opened thecrunners 0.200". Out of the box, it looks like the fast is in better trim and gets 10 hp more. Theory on the MSD is that it peaks at a higher rpm so it should end up peaking 10 or so higher hp - assuming the port work allows it to flow.

I'm just curious what id gain going to the ported msd over a ported fast 90. I'm sure with searching I could find the gains of a 102 ported over a ported 90 and then figure the msd will be a little better.

From my experience on my car there is no gains goin from a 90 fast to a 102 version. Both ported by me.

Now that's not to say a larger cube motor wouldn't see any gains and the construction of the 102 is nicer.

MSD will have the advantage in the 6800+ range imo. There's a lot going on with an intake. You can have no restriction issues in your plenum but your cam can be fighting runner harmonics.

If you're cammed to shift in the 6500 range then the MSD may offer nothing. If your setup could go to 7300 then the MSD may benefit. Different tools for different jobs.
