Default Last min tips please!?

Anyone have any last min. tips or specifics on how to get QTP LT's in? I tried last nite after taking about 3 hours to remove the stock crap....i think i was just tired so it seemed impossible to fit them in...what needs to be removed/or a specific angle they need to go in at? thanks

With my Jet Hot's on the drivers side I had to shave the block tab then it slide right in. To slide the passenger side header in you have to get the car much higher because you have to have the header almost straight up. I took the pic below right after sliding it in and starting a few bolts.

Your QTP should fit better than my Jet Hots, good luck!

QTP really shoudl slide right in but if not you can try loosening the trans member and prying the trans/engine to one side to give you that extra clearance you need. I did mine that way and alone so Its possible.

Good luck.

Passenger side should slide right in. I had to remove the heatsheilding that is under the front passenger area. That one is that easy. Driver side sucks. It doesn't look like it will fit but with some work on removing the oil filter and unbolting the driver's side engine mount and jacking up the engine a bit should be enough. It still doesn't seem like it will fit but you can push it.

Good luck. It's awesome doing it yourself as it is really worth it once it's all said and done.

Wow, My Kooks slid right in on both sides.

Take off the plug wires & coil packs on passenger side, air tub, Egr, remove plugs and slide headers up from the bottom.

With my Jet Hots, I had to unbolt the passenger side motor mount and jack up the motor a couple of inches before it would slide in. When I set the motor back down the motor mount holes lined up perfectly. For the drivers side, I just took off the steering shaft and they right in.

Question in regards to the bolts...passenger side slid right in after removing the most foward heat shield and i'm trying to bolt it in but i'm afraid of cross threading the bolts...how do i tell, when i first broke the bolts, they didnt unscrew w/ my fingers...but easily w/ the ratchet...now putting them back in kinda seems tight...am i about to cross thread? or does putting the bolts back in always require some force?

You dont have to disconnect anything to jack up the motor. The passenger side motor mounts are a piece of cake but I'm not sure if the drivers side will be that easy. I placed a jack towards the back at the flat spot in front of the tranny and put a small block of 2X4 between the jack and motor. For my drivers side manifold to slide in all I had to do is take out the steer shaft.

You can jack up only the driver's side if you want. I've never taken that motor mount off before so I dont know how difficult that side is compared to the passenger side.

Default Ok....this sucks...

This is taking way to much time...jacking the engine on the drivers side only...its the tranny, then the oil pan, and then the k memeber...what do i use to jack up the engine which is above all of these?

Use the flat spot right in front of your tranny. Be sure to use a block of wood between the jack and motor.

Yes the oil pan. I put it closer to the K member and it worked just fine.

The board will keep you from crushing it. You can raise it that much without any probs. Just go slow and listen carefully.
