I have a bone stock 2000 WS6 A4 with 70k miles.

I used to own a 79 WS6 with a 455. I was pushing 550hp and close to 600ft-lbs of torque due to the long stroke of the 455 (4.21).

While the 2000 goes well enough when I floor it , it just doesn't rip loose like a beast like the other car. I want to be able to jump on it at 20-30mph and be able to fry the tires.

No nos and the final horsepower and torque numbers don't matter to me. I was thinking a cam might enhance my low end torque and move it lower in the rpm range but it's pretty invasive work.

would a convertor get me there? Not really interested in ruining my highway driving experience so gears are out.

Just so you know a cam is going to move the power into the upper end with a sacrifice down

A Yank SS3600 convertor will wake that thing up.

Nothing motivates these cars as much as a converter.

The convertor sounds interesting. Would I need a new flex plate and transmission cooler for a weekend cruiser?

Also concerned about reprogramming the computer.

I would go with a Yank 4000 SS. You will not regret it. . Do not let the 4000 stall speed bother you it drives just fine on the street. You will need a cooler and a tune(go with a Frost mail order tune).

LID (Air intake), catback exhaust, Yank 3600ss, small cam 224R or custom cam from cam motion, eps, etc, valve springs and pushrods that work with your cam.

Done deal. Easy 360ish rwhp on stock manifolds that will put a smile on your face.

I would highly recommend talking with Geoff from EPS he has some nice cams that reduce valvetrain noise and stress. His products are more expensive then his competitors, but his service is top notch and just a great guy.

Don't forget to save $$ for a tune.
