Default split loom or braided loom for new turbo Lq4 harness ?

so im doing a turbo LQ4 / 4L80 in a 2005 Colorado single cab, and Current performance is making a whole new ECU/engine/fuseblock harness for me, and right now its the basic split loom covering that you would find on most harnesses, but they said for an additional $35 they will upgrade to the newer sleeker looking braided loom covering that you see on harnesses.

my question is, with the addition of the turbo and the heat that usually comes with it, which one would be better for the engine bay for long term, as id like the look of the braided harness loom, but if the extra heat from the turbo setup would make it easier to melt or brittle from heat cycling then its a moot point. anyone have any real world experience with the different types of loom covering.

thanks

The braided loom looks better (IMO) and should not melt as easily as split loom. I have Jareds harness also in my truck, he does great work.

Wirecare.com and waytekwire.com are my go to's.

Definitely go with braided and use the adhesive lined heat shrink if you have the patience and are doing it yourself. I used the Nylon multi-filament braid from techflex. You're going to pay for it but it will look great and last.

More of just the harness

Some installed pics (note that im not happy with how i have it laid out. I ran out of room to do it the way i wanted it and am in the process of redoing it and running the whole thing through the firewall to move the ECM out of the engine bay)
