Default H/C/I Wishlist

About to pull the trigger on my H/C/I wishlist I've been researching and compiling over the last few weeks. My hopes are for a nice, streetable package, with good under the curve power. Projecting around 430ish rwhp.

1999 Trans Am

TSP LS6 CNC ported head package
w/ PAC .660" dual springs (package option vs .600 beehive)
Titanium retainers, stainless steel valves.
Lunati hydraulic roller lifters
TSP hardened chromoly pushrods
Brian Tooley rocker arm trunion kit
TSP 233/239 .600/.600 112 LSA cam
Oil pump (still debating replacement LS6, Ported LS6, high
pressure Melling 295, or high volume/pressure Melling 296)
LS2 timing chain
FAST 92mm intake
LS6 coolant lines
LS6 valley cover
Nick Williams 92mm throttle body
FAST 36# injectors

Car already has FTRA, lid, LTs, ORY, catback, 3.90 gears. One small bottleneck I see is the LTs being only 1-5/8 instead of 1-7/8, but I'm not too concerned about that at this time.

My uncle has a welder on hand, so also debating dual electric cutouts in the ORY simulating open headers.

Sounds good. Why dual cutouts though?

I wouldnt even bother with the FAST 92 especially on a heads/cam car. Just get the 102 and be done

Looks like a pretty solid combo. What kind of compression are you shooting for? How high do you plan to spin it?

Lol. I still have 1-3/4 headers on my 383 & a Fast 92. They work great.

Well, my 'theory' is to make it simulate an open headers type of thing, maybe squeezing out a little more power when open.

Other than that, me graduating from the import crowd and still being a little bit of a ricer at heart, I can be obnoxiously loud on demand with that cam lmao

You may be right. I just compared the intake/tb combo on TSP and the price difference is pretty negligible...hmmmmm, food for thought I guess

The Fast 102 will make about 5-8 more than the 92, but it will also cost a few hundred more with the fuel rails and whatnot

And yes I understand what you're doing with the dual cutouts here. It will be crazy loud for sure lol

Yeah, think I'll stick with the 92.. sure it could be found cheaper, but another $250 for the tsp fuel rail kit for the 102, plus looks like either grinding the stock water pump for clearance or buying an ls2 pump.

92 is pretty much plug and play.

Probably around 10.5:1 compression, not really wanting to mill the heads and possibly start creeping into ptv clearance issues with the cam.

Honestly, I'll let the tuner handle what it'll eventually spin out to, probably around 6500, but even if it goes that high, I'll most likely never run it that high personally, even just playing around. I don't even redline it as it is now. When I took it to the track, I didn't launch, just rolled into it like from a red light and short shifting around 5400, only ran a 13.3, but I'm fine with that lol

Running almost the same setup... except i got a 4000 stall, and a LS6 intake. This setup is very daily drivable. Its about as aggressive as i would go..

Btw im running Livernois stg 3 Ls6 heads, and TSP 233/239..

What did you use for your oil pump?

Sounds good.

You're right. See what the curve looks like & where it's happiest.

It is a simple rule of thumb, if you are running the stock oil pan you obviously do not have additional volume so you want to run the 10295 (HPOP). If you have an aftermarket oil pan with additional capacity, run the 10296 (HVOP). We also STOCK both pumps at all times if you did need one.
