Default LS1 Conversion

I'm doing the LS1 conversion on my 2006 Silverado crew cab,right now it has a 5.3 that'll be going to a 5.7 LS1 in a few months.
Do yall think i should upgrade lifters, pushrods, valve springs, timing chain, roller rockers to LS2? Or do
you think the LS1 parts will be fine?
im getting a Comp cam with a pretty nasty lope so I don't want to be going in & changing things out when they break

I guess I should cut to the point and say that its not worth the hassle if its an LM7, and if its an L33 you're actually downgrading.

But Would it be better to get a 6.0 instead?

Yes, it would be better to get a 6.0.

Check the 8th digit of the VIN.

That's an 06 LM7. They respond just as well to mods as an LS1.
They also respond incredibly well to nitrous/boost.

If you're going to do a swap, might as well make it a 6.0.

There is an unbelievable amount of aftermarket performance parts for that motor. You should contact one of the sponsors here, they will be more than happy to help you with your build.

I believe there is a truck section here, or isn't there a truck sister site to ls1tech? Those would probably be better places to start

Every single aftermarket piece that fits an LS1 also fits his 5.3 with the exception of pistons and a couple of heads. No point in going to the truck site unless you're looking for chassis advice.

The motor in your truck is a brute when it comes to boost.
If you want to stay all motor, start with a cam and springs.

In order to get a 383 out of a 5.3, you have to bore it out and use LS1 pistons.
