ATI Harmonic Damper
Hey guys i'm building an ls1 out of a 2000 corvette. I've torn it down, had the block glass bead blasted, replaced the cam bearings/mains, and am now buying the parts i need to rebuild it. I'm planning on having the rotating assembly balanced and need to provide a harmonic damper as i'm sure many of you all know.
The build will be NA and i'm shooting for mid-high 400's to the wheel.
The car will be Manual.
The Engine/Trans will be going into an Rx7 FD.
The car will be driven any day the weather is nice.
So i guess I've got two questions:
First, do i really need to go all out and buy the ATI? or would i be safe going with a cheaper option. I'm not against buying the ATI i just don't like wasting money.
Secondly, I've noticed on ATI's website there are different models/part #'s for the Corvette and the Camaro/TransAm. I need help locating the right one to buy.
I know there was a guy on here saying something about it being stamped "44" and being 10% UD.

If you have time, ATI sells balancers with blems on eBay for half price. There are different part numbers based on the accessories including water pump that you use. There are also standard and underdrive units as well. I think there are also options for steel and aluminum balancers as well.

Call up bob@brutespeed or PM him on here. He will hook you up. Here are the options for Y body:
http://www.atiracing.com/products/da...ts/damserp.htm
If I was going to get one for my F-body, I'd go with 917276. It has AC, 10% UD, shell is aluminum ad hub is steel. I don't want to hinder my system with 25% under drive, and 10% is a good compromise. Right now I'm running an ASP pulley and you can read about why I may get an ATI in the near future here:

I believe the equivalent ATI balancer for a Y-body is 917279.
I've had no luck finding any blems on ebay for F-body cars. Just search ATI blem in ebay and message the seller asking if they have any blems for your car.
