ASP pulley throws timing chains?

ASP pulley throws timing chains?
I have an ASP pulley on my car with 25% UD. Was told to replace it with an ATI and replace the timing chain for peace of mind. I've researched and have found only 2 stories of ASP being an issue and many stories saying that the ASP has been on cars for 100,000+ miles with no issues. Was there an early on quality issue with ASP that was resolved later on? Who has had issues with ASP UD harmonic balancers?

The smaller the diameter is of the balancer the less ability it has to dampen harmonics. The first thing that sees stress is the chain. If is has a cam and springs and sees rpm a good balancer is not a waist of money. Buy good I mean ATI or Innovators West. It is also not just the dia but the stiffness of the rubber. Never a one size fits all.

I think during road racing events a couple of manual six speed cars had timing chains break that were using ASP pullies, heard this years ago.
We used an ASP pulley on my 383 LS1 and it's been fine. The rotating assembly was very carefully balanced to help keep harmonics down as much as possible and a double roller timing set was used.

Note that crank hamonics are due to the crank twisting/untwisting (and resonating like this) with each cylinder ignition event, and is/are regardless of how finely balanced the rotating assembly is.
