Keep the RPM's under 6600RPM for both and I'm going to say about 250 HP difference in strength holding capacity.

Default GEN-III/GEN-IV block strength

MY observation :

1. The block that has two different length "long" head bolts is weaker as stated by GM.
2. The block that has a breather "hole" between the main/cam tunnel is VERY weak AND will crack in that area.
3. The boss area needed to fit a Timing Chain "Idler" is not on many early blocks that when fitted will GREATLY increase chain life after being installed.

I'd say closer to 400.

Someone just broke the stock bottom end chassis dyno record in the last few days. 11xx whp on a stock 5.3. Its already proven itself in the quarter mile laying down lots of low-mid 8s.

So are all gen 4 motors have the 54x reluctor? Do you have to run a lingenfelter box to convert a gen 4 in an fbody?

i believe ls2's and the lq motors still have the 24x wheel, other wise you either change the wheels or get the LPE converter like you mentioned
