Macks out, longtubes in Ok it looks like I'm going to have to pull my Macks and put some new headers on my 422.
What brand of 1 3/4 LT would work and should I go with 1 7/8?
If I get 1 7/8 what companies besides Kooks makes good ones?

Edelbrock makes a beautiful set of step tube headers.
1 3/4" stepped to 1 7/8" into a 3.5" collector.
Then the Y-pipe is nice too, do a search, but most are posting stock ground clearance with these headers and Y.

Another vote for Edelbrocks here. Best I have seen (and I have seen pretty much all of them) 
under 500 for headers and Ypipe is fantastic too!!! slip slit 3.5 inch merge collectors, excellent flanges, all gaskets, bolts, )2 extensions etc etc.

i'm also interested in hearing more about the edelbrock headers.....i have been leaning towards kooks but if i can save 300 then i'm all for it. i'm more interested in 1 7/8's cuz my motor will be a 383 eventually...
