Default TBSS intake on 03 4.8
There is a TBSS intake for sale complete with rails and injectors, would this be a bolt on?

I know a lot of guys have to change some things since they buy just the intake but if its the complete factory set up should it work?

Bolts right on. You might have to change a couple of things to work right with it though.

TBSS/New style truck intake flows much better than the old one.

ive heard of using a corvette fpr/filter. where would this specifically be installed? what would be needed? is there a write up for it somewhere?

I've been doing research to swap this same intake onto my 06 5.3l. Here is what I found. Feel free to correct me if there are other options!

DBC
-Need an aftermarket 90mm throttle body

DBW
-Use TBSS TB with X-link($240)
OR
-Use silver blade LS2 TB with matching pedal and TAC

You will need to adapt your fuel system depending on what you have. Best of Luck!

So would i need an x-link for the ls2 silverblade tb?
Joe, how much is the adapter for the stock tb?

What does TAC mean?? what do u by pedal? gas pedal???

Adapters are literally all over the place. You shouldn't have the slightest bit of trouble finding one.

TAC is the computer that controlls the DBW system. You would need the correct electronic gas pedal to use the DBW

if i get the tb with the tbss intake ill get the x-link else ill get my tb ported and get an adapter if the adapter is cheap

ls2 tb seems like a lot of work

It would be interesting to see what kind of gains you would get with a 78mm throttle body on a tbss intake. Even with heavy porting I feel like it would be a big restriction. At that point, I would wonder if you really gained much over the stock setup. But then again, I've never tried it. What do you think Joe?
