Default Help, neutral safety switch wiring

LS1/4l60 into 80' corvette - Complete car re-wire. LS1 was installed and ran great but bad corvette wires made me redo everything except the ls1 harness. I marked the best I could which wires go where and this one I am not 100% sure on.

ECU pin 34 is for neutral safety switch signal, correct?

If so, is this how I should wire the setup...

Ignition switch in on position will provide power to neutral safety switch. If, transmission is in Park/Neutral the power from ignition switch goes to starter solenoid and pin 34?

Is that correct?

I don't think so. Pin 34 should receive a ground when in park/natural. This ground is just a signal to the pcm to let it know that the trans is not in gear. This is pins a & b on a 2002 fbody p/n switch. Pins e & f on same p/n switch are for the starter relay. I hope this helps.

edit - I meant to say start position instead of on.

ignition switch in the start position sends power through the neutral safety switch to solenoid. My current piggybacked wire to the pcm only gets power during the starting phase. Assuming that is true the rest of the time that wire should have no signal to pcm.

Hrm....

The wire going to pin 34 at the pcm does not get any voltage it gets ground in park and neutral. There are two switches in the late model park/neutral switch. Well actually three, one is for back up lights. Two of these are activated in park/neutral. One is to ground pin 34 at pcm and the other is supply voltage to the starter relay when in park/neutral, this is the safety part of the switch. Attached is a pic of the later model switch, the one with the six wires.

I do not have that particular neutral safety switch. I have one with 4 wires. When the shop installed the LS1 that's how they wired it. I will post of picture of what I have. Also, going to test the wires and see if I can figure out what is being power/grounded today. Tough to do since I still have 80% of the re-wire to do lol

Are you sure that your old wiring had a wire going to pin 34? I think you could run it without pin 34 hooked up, but it may cause some drivability though. Most likely the switch you have is to wires are for natural/safety switch and to wires for back-up lights. For the start circuit a wire from the ign. switch that has voltage in the start position to natural/safety switch. Then from natural/safety switch to a starter relay or strait to the starter. If you don’t have a diagram of the natural/safety use a volt meter to test for continuity when in park and natural. This would be the two wires use for the start circuit.

How they had it wired.... t
red wire goes to original harness to flasher fuse.
green wire goes to back up lights
purple/white wire went to starter solenoid
purple wire goes to ignition switch.
Pin 34 was piggybacked on the purple wire going to the ignition switch

I tested the ohms and looks good in park.

What kind of drivability issue?

Looking at the wiring diagram pin 34 is grounded when in park or neutral. That is the way my car is wired. I don’t know how it will act applying voltage to this pin. As for drivability the pcm will not know that the car is in park and may idle fast or not fast enough when in gear.
If that is the way it was before then try it.
