Default a little help

looking to replace my ls1 intake with the ls6 I just bought, never done any engine work as far as removing anything(except for removing and replacing the AIR check valves and changing the oil) is this a job for a beginner?, I would like to increase my knowledge of working on cars, Ive always believed there is no better satisfaction then doing the job yourself. Ive also been reading an article on ls1howto.com concerning intake swap, and the PCV conversion, probably will read and reread it many times before I attempt this. Thanks all.

Intake swap shouldnt be anything you can't do yourself, even being a beginner. If you want a decent step by step how to, go to your local auto parts store and pick up a Chilton manual for an fbody. Should have all the info you need to pull and replace an intake manifold. If not, just find a how to on here or the one youve already looked at and reference it while you're doing the job.

It's pretty straight forward. I say go for it, any hiccups just post the question here.

everything ive read is pretty straight forward, my only concern is getting the fuel line separated from the fuel rail, was thinking of maybe getting a fuel line disconnect tool and going to the junkyard and practicing on a few cars there.

No need to practice on a vehicle. I removed my intake, valve covers and rocker arms last night in about 2.5 hrs.
Removed the fuel line in literally 3 seconds.

Put disconnect around line, push silver fitting in, push disconnect tool under silver fuel line connector then pull.

Also the back 5 bolts are to long to pull out due to the cowl so you will have to keep them up when you slide the intake out.

Intake swap was the first thing I did on my own 7 years ago when I was new, read up beforehand, give yourself plenty of time (a weekend) and go slow, and be ready for scratched up hands/arms and possibility of breaking that OPSU. You'll be fine.

Honestly while your down there you should look at your knock sensors and perform the silicone dam mod on them if they are clean and not rusted out.

Ya those are rubber bands. Also to help prevent breaking the oil pressure sensor the first thing I would do is pull the vacuum line out of the brake booster.
