[QUOTE=Roadking2;19569724] The intake ports are 1" width ....... what heads are you running oem cnc or aftermarket , what is your head port width ?
my Dorman ls2 intake came with all the hardware and I'm very impressed with it it I spent about an hour cleaning up the ports and smoothing out the runner's will see how it works out still have more room to open them up but not much more or you get close to that orange sealing compound

i was gonna volunteer my ls6 but as of right now its not looking good. to ship it to him for testing is gonna be nearly a hundred bucks each way and i cant justify that much just for shipping. then again the place i normally ship through like to be a bit zealous with the packaging so im gonna try and get the package size down and see if i can lower the cost. A LOT

To the OP, when are you expecting to perform dyno tests on these intakes. Sounds like your trying to get things ready, and the comparision on flow #'s looks promising, but ultimately running them on the dyno and looking at the curves is what I'm chomping at the bit for. Literally waiting to see them before I order one of these.

IMO the best budget intake for a LS1 is the BBK with a 3 bolt 85mm throttle body, it's been proven in dyno tests, and it won't crack. If your car already has the LS6 intake, stick with that or jump to the Fast 92/102 or the MSD.
If you have a car with hood clearance then the Dorman Truck intake or the Fast truck intake would be worth considering.
I'd suggest the DLS2 for replacing a factory LS2 intake.

I think that the BBK has potential, but you have to think outside the box a bit. It's a very short runner intake. Most of the intakes have runners that are the length of the valley width, and they are curved around, etc. The BBK intake runners are only about 3-4" long -- JUST long enough to reach the plenum, and the plenum is huge by virtue of not having all that runner material in there.
it tends to be thrown onto stock internal motors, which can't really rev high enough for shorter runners to be beneficial. That it is aluminum and heat soaks doesn't really help it, but it is strong vs composite.
I suspect it would shine on a wide LSA cam, boosted, high rpm motor.

ERL had that big fire sale. ERL helped me spend the rest of my test budget
As a result Phase 2 still at least several weeks away. I also bought a surprise intake to test I think I will be able to borrow a couple of others for testing too.
While I would love to do an engine dyno test for all of these intakes that's not within my means to fund at this time.

For the price I think a used TBSS is the intake to beat. For $160 I scored one with fuel rails & injectors. I've seen TBSS as low as $100. While its ugly unshaved it does deliver good results if it fits. I would love to test a professionally ported TBSS.

I put a BBK on my stock head/cam TA. From what I've read the runners are about 1 inch shorter than the LS6 runners and the plenum is huge. It feels stronger from about 1500 rpm up. More mods are in the works.

I must have had a different model. The only way my runners were ten inches was if I used the same ruler that gave me a 18" member.
