Default Intake Mainfold Swap, NEED HELP right away

I just finished putting on a ls6 intake manifold on my car and now my car is insanely loud, backfires a lot, and it's not running right. I also did !air and !egr, and fixed a few small exhaust leaks. Any idea why this is happening?

Yeap, check all the vacuum tubes and tighten the intake down a bit more. I had same exact problems and after letting it run a few minutes and fixing above said problems it now runs smooth as before.

I'll tell my dad to double check, anything else that could be wrong?

as far as the open headers sound i dont think so, if the intake is leaking or has a vaccuum leak its a different sound. did you torque the intake down in the right pattern and right torque specs?

He said he checked all of that, there are no vaccum leaks and bolted it on right. Hopefully he'll find what the real problem is.

have another question, why does my car backfire like crazy? when you get on it and the RPM's are high, it sounds like a machine gun going off. theres soo much back pressure. And he says the car is insanely loud, he's gonna drive it home tonight and i'll hear it myself and but any ideas why?

i would think if it was that loud it would be easy to find the leak. what did you change on the exhaust besides the egr and air?

Only thing I can think of is the vacuum hose to the brake booster... When i did my swap I forgot to hook it back up and it made my car sound like open headers.... I dunno about exhaust leaks... pretty sure you didn't touch anything down there to make it just sound wide open... But like you said, you said everything's hooked up so sorry bro... good luck with it!

My car sounded like it had a cam when the brake booster wasnt connected. My misfires stopped when I fixed my vacuum leak.
