Does throttle body orientation matter? 'Custom' intake issue Title basically states it.
Specific question:
Can a throttle body be mounted with inlet facing down to the ground?
More details:
5.3L Turbo engine using Holley Mid rise intake swapped into an older Land Cruiser FJ55.
The engine is pushed back as far as it physically can so I'm going to have to cut the throttle body flange off the intake and adjust.
At this time, I think the air from the turbo will be coming upward directly in front of the water pump pulley.
Any thoughts?
I'll see if I can dig a picture or two up to help with the visual.

I don't think the airflow, PCM or engine cares how the air enters.
Mast makes a neat adapter allowing you to use a TB on a carb intake.
I just don't know how you'd position a mass airflow sensor without it being too tall

The intake is not a carb style:
For the MAF, at this time, I wasn't going to use the stock style with the screen. I tracked down a stand alone style that I can weld a fitting into the tubing to my turbo.
The intake air sensor was going to be in the base of the manifold.
