Yes, you need the clamshell style mounts. The clamshell mounts actually attach to the frame; The engine brackets attach to them with a long bolt. The clamshell mounts are OEM parts(though Holley sells them too) and are what cushions the engine from the frame.

The Holley site specifies which ones to use. Just follow their lead on this.

I messed up- The rubber mounts DO go on the engine, and the brackets to the frame. Don't know where my head has gone.....

The mounts in the picture will work great. Get poly, the rubber ones will flex too much causing header/ frame clearance issues.

The Hooker engine brackets work with 4th-gen F-body engine mounts, which is exactly what is shown in that photo.

If so, how does it attach to the transmission?
The 71223003HKR brackets adapts the crossmember to the 4L60 transmission. The crossmember has a torque arm mount that divorces the torque arm from the transmission, which is a really great feature.

You can get a lot of information be reading through the Hooker 3rd-gen F-body swap thread I created on this forum, and by downloading the instructions for each part off of the Holley website.

Do I still need to get the bracket that bolts to the engine like the one in the picture?

No, there is no use for those when using the Hooker engine bracket set-up. This is what the mounts will look like installed on your car...

Thanks. Yeah, I think the combination of the Hooker engine brackets and transmission crossmember make a real nice mounting package for 3rd-gens and the headers and exhaust systems top it off very well.

Glad to help. What are you plans for an oil pan? The Holley 302-2 is drop-in compatible. If you want to use a stock 4th-gen F-body pan then you'll have to notch back of the engine K-member as some other users have done.

I never done it myself, so I can't give a discrete amount. There is a guy over on a popular 3rd-gen forum who's done it that I can point you towards if you need more info.
