I had a 97 Silverado. The truck lacked power but I liked the interior better than my 13 F 150.

These trucks came with so many options. Lucky me the truck passes everything on the road but the gas station.

Default 4wd has everything to do with it

4wd with two axles to spin and a transfer case to spin that engine will utilize fuel like crazy , just guessing but you probably running big tires too? That might have something to do with it.

My truck is a 2wd and the tires are the original size that came on the truck. Its a C2500 truck. Again, loaded or unloaded the 454ci gets 10-12 mpg regardless.

#sidenote~I cant drive the truck no where wity out people wanting to buy the truck or they want to have a conversation about the truck.

My stock 4.7 V8 2006 Toyota Tundra 4x4 can chug ten gallons of gas just as fast if not faster than any stock GM 6.0 😀😃🙂

Wow!! Time sure does fly by. So i drove my 87 454ci/400 truck to work a week or so ago and the guys was picking on me. " That truck is nice but it wont pass the gas station" . I will be the huckleberry so its cool.

My squarebody gets 10 mpg. One of the guys at work said i have overdrive which would be a 4L80 in a 2500 cateye pick up truck with a 6.0 motor.
Im not impressed with the cateye truck as it only gets 11.5 mpg.... i was in SHOCKED when he told me that.

Anyway here is a pic of my rig.

Silverback turn heads everywhere as im thinking of a plan for the truck.
