402 stroker

I have a 2002 C5Z. I am going to order Texas Speed stroker kit and wondering for those who have chosen 12 to 1 compression if you needed a high torque starter?

I've got a 400" 12 to 1 stroker on stock starter. I actually think it turns over faster once oil gets moving. But static compression doesn't mean as much as dynamic does. I'm running a pretty big cam so my dynamic is down. I think cam motion has a calculator you can use to figure dynamic if you have engine and cam specs

dynamic will be the factor for torque required by starter. I have a 408 with only 10.8 to 1 and i seems a little sluggish lol.

Like others have mentioned there is other factors that can contribute, but I don't see you having an issue. I have ran over 13.5:1 compression while using the factory starter.
