Recommend Me An Intake Manifold PLEASE!
Engine is an LQ4 upgraded to flat top pistons, .030" over bored, cam specs are .558/.551 208/218 @ .050", and 115 LSA, long tube 1 7/8" headers.. 799 heads with double springs, and Straub rocker arm bushing kit. I went with a mild cam because the truck will never be raced. I am leaning more towards LOW RPM/HIGH TORQUE.. What intake would you recommend for best street manners from off idle, to about 5500RPM? Naturally aspirated and will remain that way. No turbos, no spray, no 'charging.. None of that stuff.
I need a 3 bolt TB, and it is DBC. I have a stock 5.3L truck intake sitting on the floor. I've been reading about the 2008+ NBSS truck intake, the TBSS intake, the Dorman LS2... Too many choices for my limited experience to choose from.
So, please make a recommendation for which you think would best support my goals of best LOW RPM torque/performance in a daily driver that will NEVER see a race track. I will be towing my dirt bike trailer with it every now and then (1000 lbs. max). It's a single cab 2002 Silverado 1500. Currently has a 4.3L/5 speed manual in it now. I'll be doing the swap within the next 2 weeks and need to get the intake manifold purchased and installed ASAP.
I have one on my Dyno Mule Engine, a LSX 400/LS-7 Dry Sump.
I have a kit LS-2 DBW to DBC conversion for $135.00

I am going to just run the factory 5.3L intake manifold that I have on-hand for now. It's free so you can't beat that!
I was reading last night that the later truck manifold (07+) is one of the best TORQUE manifolds in existence. Maybe later I'll swap over to one of those. For now, I'll run what I have and focus on getting the engine installed, and running.
I bought the Texas Speed long tube/3" Y pipe set up today and it is coming. Once I have the exhaust in hand, I will be butt-holes & elbows getting everything swapped over. I'm going with a 4L80E trans as well.
