Default slp headers

Going to pick up some "slp" headers soon and wanted to know if there is any specific way I can tell if they are slp's or for the 4th gen camaros without just installing them. As I don't want to waste time and money getting them if they don't fit.

not currently but I will snap a pic when I pick them up but would like to know before hand. I will say one side looks all straight and the other looks kinda janky with what looks like strange bends.

I had a set and I'm pretty sure they have a plate welded onto one of the primaries with their logo.

Just be aware that the older twisted equal length ones hang low. I'd spend the money for the newer design since they'll have better ground clearance.

Now the next question is two fold where can I find a y-pipe for my new long tube headers/and some gutted cats? So I can have nice high flow when I get it installed.

I have the same SLP headers, they came on the car. They do hand low so I replaced them. If you install them with the car on jack stands you'll have to have the car up pretty high and you'll need to remove the oil filter to be able to get the driver side on. The last owner welded straight pipe to the header to take the place of the cat and then bought an SLP Y pipe, they did a shitty job. look at speed engineering for a Y pipe

Those are the old style which do hang low but if you are at stock ride height you should be ok. What I can say about those headers is that they make more torque than the other headers out there. I tuned a guys car with those and the tq was definitely on the high side while hp was just a tad on the low side.

If you havent already bought them though I would get the speed engineering headers for like 279. They are stainless and wont hang as low. I would not recommend the speed engineering y pipe.

Full-force, why wouldn't you recommend SE's Y pipe?

hangs low, merge doesnt tuck high enough, driver side pipe doesn't come back far enough before making the bend towards the merge and puts the pipe under the corner of the transmission crossmember (at least the 6 speed crossmember anyway). I would spend the extra coing on TSP headers and y pipe. The TSP y pipe is awesome and it can be made to work with speed engineering headers but its gonna take some modding t make it 'right"
