Default LS1 block, is it fixable or a paperweight?

Hey, is this lifter bore serviceable or is the block a paperweight? I had a lifter turn in the bore & get mushroomed into the block. 1 guy I spoke to said he wouldn't sleeve the lifter bore however he didnt see the damage, it was only me asking if he would/could. I'm only asking because I was thinking about selling this block with the rotating assembly if possible since I already have a new motor.

go get your 50 bucks for scrap price..... yeah it can be fixed. Anything can be fixed but there are too many good blocks out there for people to pay decent money to repair and still be unsure of. Thats my 2 cents anyway. Hell I just saw an entire good running 120k mile turnkey ls1 engine go for 1200 bucks

You could just bush the lifters. Idk what side that's on but you could get away with bushing one side.

yeah, I know bare blocks are so cheap now a days. I may pull the rotating assembly out & just scrap the block.

Do you know why the lifter rotated? Was there some other problem that caused the lifter to rotate? This happened to me and I'm wondering what really happened.

Thanks,
John
