LT1- LS1 swap questions

LT1- LS1 swap questions I have looked through many threads here and I have not found a specific answer for each of these questions so if someone could help me that would be great. I cannot wait to get this thing running!
I am currently in the process of swapping a LS1 into my 1996 camaro z28. I am almost done and I am just finishing a few things before I start it up for the first time.
In the threads that I have read I see that I will need a throttle cable from a 98 camaro. Why wont the LT1 throttle cable work? and do I remove the cruise control module or will the 98 cable attach to the module? The module looks ugly and I think I would rather not have it at all if that is the best option.
I have a extra 5.3l starter that I would like to use for the LS1. I need to know if there is any reason that it will not work. MY Ls1 starter is bad and I am trying not to go out a buy a new one if the 5.3l starter will work.
