Default choosing a head and intake

I have a 98 ls1. my short block will be finished up this week, just waiting on my bearings to get here. I'm running the stock crank, callies compstar h beam rods, diamond 3.905 flat top pistons, and a vrx5 cam. I was originally planning on running a set of trickflow 220 heads and a fast lsxr 102mm intake. this car will mainly be a street car with some track time. I still want it to have good low end power. I know with my cam selection its going to hurt a little on the lower end, but ive been hearing the head and intake combo is to big for a small cubic inch motor and it will kill the power down low, but I also have heard that this is a myth and you wont see any losses in the low end torque. does anyone have any personal experience with this? would I be better off with a ls6 top end maybe or something different? TIA

That head and cam combo will most definitely not be to big. Like you said, that is a myth. 6speed or auto? What heads and or converter?

Its a 6 speed. so you think that it wont hurt my low end power?

Those heads are great on an LS1.

The heads and intake won't really effect the low end, but the cam will for sure. The top end that you're talking about would perform really well on the stock cubes

that eases my mind a lot. so would there be any difference in bottom end power if I went with the 92mm fast over the 102?

Good choices just make sure you get the heads milled down enough and thinner head gasket to keep compression up.
